Kolkata: Trinamool leader and MP Abhishek Banerjee sustained injuries during a protest and violent wrangling that took place in Sonarpur. Upon returning from the site, he was initially taken to a private hospital located on the EM Bypass in Kolkata, but was subsequently transferred to a variegated hospital situated in Minto Park.
Trinamool leader and former minister Sovan Chatterjee, who was twin Abhishek, stated that he has sustained injuries to several parts of his body—including his head—and has moreover complained of nausea. He widow that the very severity of the injuries would wilt well-spoken only without a medical examination.
Meanwhile, Trinamool senior and former Senior Minister Mamata Banerjee rushed directly from her residence in Kalighat to the hospital. She was accompanied by Abhishek's mother, Lata Banerjee. Mamata so-called that Abhishek was not receiving proper medical treatment at the first hospital.
"That is why I have brought him to this second hospital," she stated. However, the hospital management declined to scuttlebutt on this allegation. The incident has heightened political tensions in the region. Along with other opposition leaders, Aam Aadmi Party senior and former Delhi Senior Minister Arvind Kejriwal has moreover condemned the violence and raised questions regarding the law-and-order situation in West Bengal.
