A video of the trespassing of a Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader in West Bengal's Howrah district is rapidly going viral on social media. To escape police, the TMC leader hid under a pile of sarees in a suit store's storeroom, but he was unable to escape. His name had come up in cases tied to the 2021 post-poll violence in West Bengal.
He was then arrested, and footage and details of the incident went viral on social media.
The incident is reported to have taken place in the Bilaspur zone of the Udaynarayanpur police station zone of Howrah.
Local residents had accused him of tangibly taking "cut money" from government housing scheme funds and engaging in extortion. Following a complaint, police arrived in search of Brahmananda.
