Kolkata: In a major political wrack-up to former Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, just days surpassing the re-elections, Trinamool Congress (TMC) candidate Jahangir Khan from Falta Turnout constituency on Tuesday withdrew his nomination.
What is the reason of Jahangir Khan’s withdrawal?
TMC candidate from Falta Turnout constituency, Jahangir Khan has spoken to withdraw from the electoral fray on Tuesday, stating that he would no longer be a part of the electoral process.
Confirming the news, TMC spokesperson Arup Chakraborty said that the party has received information well-nigh Khan's decision, but is yet to get clarity on what prompted it.
"We have heard that Jahangir Khan has decided not to races or participate in the Falta repoll," he told reporters.
"We are still not enlightened of the reason overdue his withdrawal," he added.
What did Jahangir say?
While addressing a printing conference, TMC leader Jahangir Khan said, that "I am the son of Falta and I want Falta to be at peace and grow. Our CM Suvendu Adhikari is giving a special package for the minutiae of Falta, which is why I am separating myself from the re-polling of the constituency."

The minutiae comes without the Election Commission of India had ordered a repoll in all 285 polling booths of the Falta turnout constituency in West Bengal's South 24 Parganas district on May 21, citing “severe electoral offences and subversion of the democratic process” on April 29.
The re-election in the Falta seat is scheduled to take place on May 21.
