Trending News: Prakriti Arora and Ashish Kumar, famous for their travel and lifestyle videos on social media, revealed their expenses in the month of August, and the figure has surprised fans. Their video has gone viral on Instagram, and it has been viewed more than 50 lakh times so far.
Choosing the path of content creation
Prakriti, 29, decided to become a professional content creator in April 2022. At the same time, Ashish, a graduate from IIT Roorkee who worked as a senior software engineer at US-based company Course Hero, quit his job in February 2025 and tried his hand at content creation full-time.
Prakriti said, "I opted out of a PhD at the University of London and chose content creation. Ashish decided to quit his stable job and join us."
How much did they spend in August
The couple spent the most on rent in August at 42,000. Fitness was their second biggest expense. Both have personal trainers, and Prakriti also practices Pilates, for which she spent 40,000.
20,000 was spent on essential groceries, 10,000 on house help, utility bills, and online streaming services, and 13,000 on food and drinks. Travel is the biggest expense for them. In August, they booked two international and two domestic trips, which cost a total of 3.5 lakh. Apart from this, 15,000 was spent on cabs, grooming, gifts, and insurance, and 1 lakh was set aside for investments and SIPs.
This takes the total expenditure to around 5,90,000, or nearly 6 lakh.
Fans react
After the video, fans on Instagram expressed surprise. Many compared it to their annual income and expressed curiosity to know the sources of income. One user jokingly wrote, “Their one-month expenses = our entire year's income.”
Expense and income balance
Prakriti said that the house help and utility expenses are less because they only hire a helper for cleaning and cook food themselves. Electricity and internet bills are around 3,300, while other subscriptions cost10,000.
The couple has five main sources of income: 60,000 from digital products and affiliates, 45,000 from YouTube, 20,000 from content licensing, no income from trip hosting and planning at the moment, and the biggest source is brand collabs, from which they earn 3–4 lakh per month
