New Delhi: Delhi commuters were taken unknowingly on Saturday without a video showing a well-dressed man asking for money in the Metro went viral.
What the video shows?
The prune shows the man, wearing a suit and speaking fluent English, unescapable passengers and telling them he had run out of "balance" on his phone or travel vellum and needed mazuma to reach Patel Nagar.
At first he asks for Rs 50, then raises his request to Rs 100. When one person tells him to get off the train considering he is once outside, the man changes his story. He says he needs the money for supplies and insists his online wastefulness will be restored by tomorrow.
Was this really a student in trouble?
In the video, the man claims he is a UPSC student and that his digital wallet or travel wastefulness has expired. But viewers on social media were sceptical. Many noted that his polished English and confident manner looked increasingly like a tactic than a genuine plea for help. Some commenters warned that well-dressed people are now using rehearsed stories to trick travellers.
How are people reacting online?
Responses to the video were mixed. Some said the man's behaviour looked like a deliberate struggle to deceive. One social media user wrote that he had "conned a poor person," while flipside said this seemed to be "a new scam." Others urged commuters to be cautious but not seem everyone asking for help is dishonest.
There is no official confirmation yet from Delhi Metro officials or police well-nigh this incident. Commuters are well-considered to stay zestful if approached for money, expressly by strangers on trains or platforms.
