Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has ordered a 50 percent reduction in his official vehicle fleet, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for energy conservation and responsible use of resources.
Calling the Prime Minister’s appeal a significant step in the national interest, Dhami said the initiative goes beyond saving energy and reflects a broader commitment towards building a self-reliant, responsible, and capable India. He emphasized that protecting national interests requires collective participation, with every citizen and public representative contributing towards resource conservation in their own capacity.
The Chief Minister also appealed to ministers, government officials, and public representatives to minimise unnecessary vehicle usage, encourage public transportation, and actively support efforts to make energy conservation a people-driven movement.
Reaffirming the Uttarakhand government’s commitment to the initiative, Dhami said the state would implement the Prime Minister’s vision with complete sincerity to ensure resource conservation while also promoting environmental protection and sustainable development.
