Idaho, America: A scary scene was seen in Idaho, America on Sunday. Two fighter planes collided in the air during an air show going on at 'Mountain Home Air Force Base'. The standoff was so fast that within a moment both the jets became balls of fire. A deject of woebegone smoke spread in the sky. Thousands of people present there stopped breathing. The wiring was immediately sealed without the accident.
When and where did the wrecking happen?
All this happened virtually 12:30 pm on Sunday afternoon. ‘Gunfighter Skies Air Show’ was going on at the base. This big show was happening without 8 years. Therefore there was a lot of prod to watch. Children, old people, families were all sitting on their seats watching the stunt. Then this wrecking happened.
— kira (@kirawontmiss) May 17, 2026Which planes collided with each other?
Both were US Navy EA-18G Growler fighter jets. These are considered very wide aircraft. Both of them collided while performing stunts in the air. Without the collision, both of them fell in the fields well-nigh two miles yonder from the base. As soon as it fell, there was an explosion and fire.
What happened to the pilots?
This was the biggest relief. In the videos circulating on social media, it is unmistakably visible that four parachutes unshut without the collision. There were two hairdo members in each of the jets. All four jumped out in time. Later the Navy moreover said that all the pilots are fine. They have suffered only minor injuries. Otherwise, it was difficult to survive without such a horrific collision.
What happened to the show?
The organisers were working nonflexible for this air show for two years. Got a endangerment without 8 years. Thousands of people had come with tickets. But without the wrecking it was immediately spoken that all the remaining stunts of today were cancelled. People left the place frightened.
Have such accidents happened here before?
This is nothing new for Mountain Home Air Base. In 2018, a hang glider crashed on the runway here. The pilot had died in that accident. Earlier in 2003 also, a jet of the Thunderbirds team had crashed here. However, the pilot was saved by jumping with a parachute. At present, the Navy and the Air Force are jointly investigating where the mistake happened.
Was there a technical fault or a mistake by the pilot? Until the report comes, flights at the wiring will remain closed. People say that thank God there was no major loss of life or property.
