Marriage Scam in Aligarh: A shocking incident has come to light just surpassing Karwa Chauth in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. Twelve brides mysteriously disappeared just days without their wedding. The matter is so serious that the police now suspect the involvement of a large, organized gang. It is reported that these brides drugged their in-laws without the wedding and fled with valuables and cash.
These incidents occurred in various areas of Aligarh, but the highest number of cases have been reported from the Harduaganj and Iglas police station areas. According to the police, this is not a simple family dispute but a specimen of a well-planned fraud, in which an unshortened gang may be involved.
A scam in the name of marriage
Police investigations have revealed that some teachers lured the parents of poor and unmarried young men by promising them "affordable" and "well-behaved" girls for marriage. These teachers brought women from states like Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, and West Bengal. They then serried mass marriages in a hurry to stave suspicion. Just days without the wedding, these "brides" fled their homes, taking valuables, cash, and jewelry. Locals say that many marriages were conducted without any relatives or social connections. In some cases, plane the priest and witnesses were members of the gang.
Fleeing without stuff drugged
According to the victims' accounts, in most cases, the brides fed their family members prasad or supplies surpassing Karwa Chauth. Without eating, all the family members fell unconscious, and when they regained consciousness, all household items were missing. Motorcycles and mobile phones were moreover stolen from several homes.
Police launched an investigation
Aligarh police have taken the matter seriously and have launched an investigation. Several teachers and marriage brokers have been summoned for questioning. Police suspect that this gang may be zippy not only in Aligarh but moreover in surrounding districts. The Superintendent of Police (City) stated that clues have been found based on CCTV footage and undeniability details. The gang is expected to be exposed soon.
