Chhattisgarh Offensive 65 Lakh Bounty Naxal Leaders Eliminated, 7 Maoists Surrender in 2 Days

Published: Jun 06, 2025

National News: The Maoists have suffered a major setback in the ongoing two-day special security campaign in the dense forests of the state. On Friday, security forces killed Telangana State Committee member and Mancharaal Komaram Bhim (MKB) Secretary Bhaskar, alias Mylarapu Adallu. Bhaskar, a resident of Urumadla village in the Adilabad district of Telangana, was wanted for a long time. The Chhattisgarh government had declared a reward of 25 lakh on it and the Telangana government had declared a reward of 20 lakh.

AK-47 and explosives recovered

Security forces have also recovered the AK-47 assault rifle and explosive material from the encounter site, making it clear that the Maoists were planning a major violent action. Just a day before this, on Thursday, in the same campaign, Sudhakar, a central committee member (CCM) of 40 lakh, was also killed in an encounter. Within the Maoist organization, Sudhakar was considered one of the major brains behind that strategy. Within two days, the Maoists' network has suffered a major setback due to the elimination of these two big names.

Large operation based on information

According to police sources, the security forces prepared a comprehensive campaign outlined when the Abujhmad and Indravati Tiger Reserve (ITR) received strong intelligence of the presence of top Maoists. In this operation, joint teams of District Reserve Guard (DRG), Special Task Force (STF) and Cobra Battalion were strategically deployed.

On Thursday, a Maoist contingent was killed in an encounter, while Bhaskar was piled up on Friday chasing the Maoists running away. According to sources, many other Maoists are also expected to be killed in this encounter, although they have not been officially confirmed.

Seven Naxalites surrendered

The impact of the government's rehabilitation policy and continuous pressure under pressure was that seven Maoists surrendered in Dantewada on Friday. Those surrenders include Juggu, Dasha, Bhojaram Madvi, Lakhma alias Sati, Ratu alias Othe Kasi, Sukhram Podiaam, and Pandaruram Podiaam.

This step indicates that the Maoists are now under twotwo-way pressure—on one hand, there is a response to the armed conflict; on the other hand, they are surrendering by being impressed by the government's rehabilitation schemes.

Increased activity in Naxalite affected area

Districts like Bijapur, Dantewada, and Sukma in Chhattisgarh have been centers of Maoist activities for a long time. But it is clear from recent campaigns that the government is now taking decisive action by entering the stronghold of Maoists. The Union Home Ministry has also appreciated these campaigns of the Government of Chhattisgarh.

Increasing pressure on Maoists

The increasing incidence of death and surrender of two top Maoists shows that the grip of Maoists in Chhattisgarh is weakening. The strict strategy of the government, the activation of the intelligence and the rehabilitation policy of the three are now visible on the ground.
