New Delhi: The last message of Indian Marine Engineer Heramb Karmarkar, who lost his life in the Iranian wade on a merchant ship in the Strait of Hormuz, has come to light. Pune resident Heramb had sent a message to his family shortly surpassing the wade informing them that his ship had safely crossed the Strait of Hormuz. Little did the family know that this would prove to be his last message. Shortly thereafter the ship was attacked, and Heramb died. This incident has shocked the unshortened country including his family.
What was Heramb's last message?
According to family members, Heramb Karmarkar had written in his mobile message that the ship had safely crossed the Strait of Hormuz and there was no reason to worry. The family moreover heaved a sigh of relief, but without some time the news of the wade on the ship reached. Without this, the family did not get any information well-nigh him for several hours. Officials later confirmed Heramb's death.
How did the ship get attacked?
The merchant ship GFX Galaxy, which Heramb was posted on, was a Cyprus-flagged commercial vessel and was sailing off the tailspin of Oman. During this time the ship was attacked. Several Indian hairdo members were present on the ship. Without the attack, relief and rescue operations were launched, in which most of the Indian sailors were evacuated safely. However, Heramb lost his life in this attack.
What information did the government give?
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, 10 Indians aboard the ship are safe. An Indian was missing for some time. Heramb Karmarkar's death was later confirmed. The government expressed deep sorrow and expressed sympathy to the family. The Indian Embassy is in unvarying touch with the local wardship and the ship company.
