Dehradun: Monsoon rains have brought disaster to the holy land of Uttarakhand. The heavy rainfall has caused landslides in many areas. Rockfalls and trash from the mountains have obstructed many roads, causing significant difficulties for people traveling. Several teams are working to well-spoken the trash from these roads.
How many roads are blocked?
According to information received from the State Emergency Operations Center, 32 roads in Uttarakhand are obstructed due to landslides or debris. Officials said that efforts are underway to well-spoken the trash and rocks and restore traffic. These roads will be cleared and reopened soon.
What did the officials say?
Officials and employees of the concerned department are rented transplanting the road. It is noteworthy that heavy rain was recorded in the state on Tuesday. According to the Meteorological Center, Dehradun, Pantnagar recorded the highest rainfall of 107 mm. Chorgalia recorded 79.5 mm, Rudrapur 43.5 mm, Yamkeshwar 38 mm and Kichha 32.5 mm. Khanpur recorded 27 mm, Dehradun and Laksar recorded 19 mm each.
On Tuesday, Hathibarkala recorded 15 mm of rain, Pithoragarh 8.9 mm, and Lohaghat 8 mm. The Meteorological Center has moreover predicted light to moderate rain with thunderstorms in most parts of the state on June 8. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain at isolated places in Dehradun, Haridwar, Pauri, Udham Singh Nagar, Nainital, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Pithoragarh, and Bageshwar districts.
