New Delhi: A Su-30 MKI fighter jet of the Indian Air Gravity crashed in the Karbi Anglong district of Assam on Thursday evening. The wrecking occurred well-nigh 60 kilometers without taking off from Jorhat airbase on a training mission. The Air Gravity confirmed the deaths of both the pilots on Friday. Squadron Leader Anuj and Flight Lieutenant Purvesh Duragkar have been martyred.
How did the wrecking happen?
The plane took off from Jorhat virtually 7.30 pm. The last liaison with ground tenancy took place at 7:42 pm. Radar contact was lost soon thereafter. The plane fell in a dumbo forest and mountainous area. The search operation unfurled throughout the night, but the darkness and inaccessible zone made rescue difficult. The death of both the pilots was confirmed without reaching the crash site on Friday morning.
