New Delhi: After 2026 T20 World Cup victory and celebrations, India all rounder Hardik Pandya has landed into legal trouble without a complaint was filed by an well-wisher versus the star cricketer alleging disrespect to the national flag during the win celebrations.
What is the complaint about?
The complaint was filed by Pune-based well-wisher Wajid Khan versus Hardik Pandya for disrespecting the national flag during the victory triumph without winning ICC Men's T20 World Cup in Ahmedabad on Sunday.
According to the complaint, in several video of post-match celebrations, Hardik Pandya is seen triumphal with the Indian national flag draped over his shoulders while dancing, running, lying on the stage slantingly his girlfriend Mahieka Sharma.

In the complaint, Wajid Khan said that during the celebrations, Hardik Pandya was seen lying lanugo on the stage slantingly girlfriend Mahieka Sharma with the flag still wrapped virtually him.
"You must have seen the T20 World Cup here. Hardik Pandya was dancing with his girlfriend in triumph of his victory. The national flag was tied to his back," Khan told ANI.
"According to Section 2 of the 1971 National Flag Act, we should respect the nobility of the national flag. However, Hardik Pandya was so lost in the triumph of his victory that he was lying with his girlfriend while wearing the national flag. I believe it is an insult to the national flag."

— ANI (@ANI) March 12, 2026Khan moreover said that the police initially told him the incident took place in Ahmedabad, but later he insisted that the national flag represents the unshortened country so the complaint can be filed in Pune as well.
"When I went to file the complaint, they told me the incident occurred there, not here. I told them the national flag is a symbol of the unshortened nation, and we can file a complaint here. Then they filed my complaint,” he said.
"I have filed a complaint with the Shivaji Nagar police station. They have wonted my complaint and provided me with a copy. Let's see what happens next," he said.
