Dhaka: Big political transpiration is happening in Bangladesh as BNP Chairman Tariq Rehman will take oath as the new Prime Minister of the country on Tuesday. The BNP has achieved a historic victory in the recently held unstipulated elections. With this victory, BNP is once then returning to power without scrutinizingly 20 years.
60-year-old Tariq Rehman is going to wilt Prime Minister for the first time. He is the son of former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia. Khaleda ji died on 30 December, without which Tariq took tuition of the party and returned to Bangladesh in December without 18 years in London.
Now what will happen to this interim government?
On August 5, 2024, the students' movement overthrew Sheikh Hasina's government. Without that the interim government of Mohammad Yunus lasted for well-nigh 18 months. Now without such a big victory for BNP, this government is coming to an end. Yunus has cleared the way.
When and where will the oath take place?
The Oath Ceremony will take place at 4 pm on Tuesday at South Plaza of Parliament House, Dhaka. President Mohammad Shahabuddin will supervise the oath to Tariq Rahman and his cabinet. Before that, the oath of new MPs will take place at 10 am. And there is moreover a parliamentary party meeting of BNP on the same day – there Tariq will be formally elected as the leader.
Who will go from India?
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla is going from India's side. He will moreover be accompanied by Foreign Secretary Vikram Mishri and Lok Sabha Secretary Unstipulated Utpal Kumar Singh. This is considered a good sign for the relations between the two countries.
Minorities moreover got tickets and victory?
The good thing is that BNP gave good representation to the minorities this time. Four people have reached Parliament – two of them Hindu leaders:
- Gayeshwar Chandra Rai (from Dhaka)
- Nitai Rai Chaudhary (from West Magura)
- Both of them defeated Jamaat-e-Islami people.
- Apart from this, Saching Pru and Deepen Devan from the Buddhist polity moreover won.
