National News: Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister, Amir Khan Muttaqi, is currently on a seven-day visit to India, aimed at strengthening ties between the two countries. However, Pakistan has expressed wrongness over this visit, objecting to the joint statement issued by India and Afghanistan.
Pakistan fumes over J&K mention
Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued an official statement expressing strong displeasure over the reference to Jammu and Kashmir as part of India, calling it a well-spoken violation of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions. The statement in Pakistan said that referring to Jammu and Kashmir as part of India is a well-spoken violation of the relevant UNSC resolutions and the legal status of Jammu and Kashmir. The joint statement by India and Afghanistan is extremely insensitive to the struggles and sacrifices of the people of Kashmir. It is worth noting that in the joint statement on October 10, India and Afghanistan condemned the terrorist wade that took place on April 22 in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, in which 26 people were killed.
Terrorism Condemned, Peace Urged
Both countries condemned all forms of terrorist activities and emphasized the importance of enhancing peace, stability, and bilateral trust in the region. Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister Muttaqi said that terrorism is an internal problem of Pakistan. Muttaqi added, “We understand that Pakistan has washed-up wrong. Problems do not get solved this way. We have kept the doors unshut for discussion. They should resolve their problems themselves. Peace has returned to Afghanistan without 40 years.” Pakistan is irritated by this statement.
