New Delhi: Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is set to play India's second game of the 2026 T20 World Cup versus Namibia on Thursday without missing the opening game versus the USA due to illness.
India and Namibia are scheduled to play in New Delhi on Thursday in the T20 World Cup.
What happen to Bumrah?
Bumrah missed the opener game versus the USA on Sunday at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai due to a upper fever.
Later, Bumrah was replaced by Mohammed Siraj in the playing XI and he did well to pick up three wickets.
Now, Bumrah is expected to return to make it to the playing XI for the Namibia clash, as he took part in India's training in Delhi on Tuesday and bowled at full tilt.
However, it is still unclear if Bumrah will replace Arshdeep Singh or Mohammed Siraj in the line-up. As both did well versus the USA.
What did Tilak Varma say?
During a pre-match printing conference, India thrash Tilak Varma said that Bumrah is fit and misogynist for the game.
"Bumrah should be when for the second game. He's veritably fine," Tilak said in the pre-match printing priming on the eve of the match.
Updating well-nigh the health of Abhishek Sharma, who had been hospitalised older this week without suffering a stomach infection, Tilak said that, "When we reached Delhi, he (Abhishek) had been examined. He went to the hospital for the examination. So I think he has been discharged today, and he’s doing well. We have got one increasingly day for the game, so hopefully we’ll decide by tomorrow (Thursday) how he feels, and we’ll go with it."
What happen to Ishan Kishan?
Ishan Kishan injured his left toe during a practice session in Delhi a day surpassing the match.
According to reports, a fast yorker from Jasprit Bumrah struck Ishan Kishan's toe in the nets, leaving him groaning in pain. The left-handed batsman was seen in considerable pain and had to stop practice for a while. It's currently unclear whether Kishan will be worldly-wise to play in the match versus Namibia, but this is certainly considered a major setback for the team.
