Over the centuries, multiple cultures have arrived in Newfoundland, starting from the time when England established it as its first colony. Newfoundland achieved self-governance when it chose to enter Canadian Confederation together with Labrador as the 10th province.
Korea
North Korea and South Korea used to be one country, under the name Korea, until 1948. The country split into two parts when the Republic of Korea became established in the South and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea emerged in the North. The two countries started fighting because they both wanted to control the whole territory, which resulted in North Korea becoming more isolated from the world.
